Tonight’s entry comes from the pages of the Avengers cartoon based comic. (The good one on Disney, not the crappy Fox Kids version.) Our tale finds the Hulk and Ant Man facing off against a creation of the Mad Thinker. The Thinker wants to destroy the Avengers.

Or does he?

“Marvelous” round 8

The Battlefield: Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes #2 (Marvel Comics; January, 2010)

The Promoters:  Christopher Yost (writer), Patrick Scherberger (penciler), Sandu Florea (inker), Jean-Francois Beaulieu (colorist), and Dave Sharpe (letterer)

So the Hulk is fighting one of the Thinker’s blockheaded androids. How’s that going?

That bad, huh?

However, Dr. Pym is questioning the Mad Thinker’s actual plan. You know, because he actually calls himself the Mad Thinker.

Leave the quipping to the experts, guys.

Throughout the fight, the Thinker keeps trying to goad Hank into switching from Ant Man to Giant Man. Pym, however, has other plans. (Also, he’s often a pacifist in this version, occasionally far past the logical point.)

In hindsight, that was probably a bad idea to put that there.

Although he’s willing to get others do the punching things for him.

That's done. Hulk's ready for pizza.

Now before Spacebooger posts this as a win for the Hulk it really isn’t. This is really Pym’s victory. You see, the other android was set-up to record Pym using his famous “Pym Particles”. The Mad Thinker, who lives only to gain knowledge regardless of the morals involved, wanted that secret to do even he doesn’t know what. Oh, and apparently Thinker himself was an android.

From the Hulk, that's actually high praise. Because this Hulk is a big jerk!

Remember, kids. Just because you’re a thinker doesn’t mean you’re a smart person.
