In search of a fez, the Doctor takes Amy and Rory to Casablanca as the Nazis are moving in. Rory gets arrested for no good reason and in jail someone wants to shoot him and some other guy. Those someones turn out to be Silurians.
What they got right: I like the concept of aliens in Casablanca and although it took me a while I figured out that they snagged Rory just to use him as a fall guy. At least I think that’s what’s going on.
What they got wrong: I didn’t realize the Doctor cared so little about Rory unless I’m missing something. He seems more interested in getting a fez hat. Also, if the TARDIS is translating as usual, why are some words in French? What language is everybody speaking in?
Recommendation: First tale for the new writer and I’m in the middle. Still recommend picking up, but I’m not convinced one way or the other just yet.
This part I did find amusing.
