The Misadventures of Adam West #2
Bluewater Productions (August, 2011)
I should note here that this is when it was SUPPOSED to come out. It actually came out last week. Now I understand books can be delayed a month or two, but almost half a year? And during that time they began soliciting the ongoing. We haven’t seen enough of the miniseries to ensure it’s a good enough comic to continue getting. I’m sure some sales of the ongoing were lost because of this.
WRITER: Reed Lackey PENCILER: V. Ken Marion COLORIST: Kamui Ayami (did Bluewater just stop using inkers?) LETTERER: Jaymes Reed GRAPHICS: Darren G. Davis COVER: Russell Dauterman CREATORS: Adam West & Darren G. Davis
After learning how he ended up in the script, Adam learns that he must live it out, but change what he thought was wrong about it before going into the next screenplay world. His only connection is Robinson, who can communicate through any form of communication. Still trapped in the spy picture from last issue, Adam must change what he didn’t like about it in order to go to the next movie, an old west picture/universe.
What they got right: While obviously ripping off Quantum Leap should go into the “got wrong” section, I kind of like the variation they go with here. It does allow Adam West to partake in different storylines and it may even turn out to be more fun here than in the original version. (Sorry, Sam Beckett.) the art is rather good.
What they got wrong: The wait time. I don’t know why this issue and the next two were delayed as long as they were, and with the ongoing and two spin-offs with Julie Newmar and Burt Ward coming they should have reprinted #1 or included a catch-up for people who haven’t seen it. It might be a bit harder to find now. Also, the cover is for the wrong issue. This takes place in the next storyline.
Recommendation: If you haven’t picked up #1, do so, and then look for this one. It’s a darn good story thus far.

If I had a dollar for every time this happened to me...I'd have an empty wallet.
