As we continue to wait to see who will win the current big Prize Fight, it’s time to finish our trip through the Bad Boys. Remember, this time the villain had to win the fight, which again is sort of against how my brain works. So there’s a bias here that won’t necessarily have me celebrating fights that are otherwise good. They have to be extra outstanding for me to put it here, where I’m a bit more lax otherwise. So don’t take it personally if your entry isn’t here. I’m tougher to please with this one.
The Best Of
“Bad Boys” rounds 7-12
- Korge gets style points. Needs a speech coach, though. Plus: Hal abuse.
- More Hal abuse.
- And My WINNING Entry: Talking parademons to hock a line of action figures. Not the place to expect a winning entry. It was even Fred’s favorite of the round.
- Yep, more Hal abuse, along with the rest of the JLA.
- This one actually makes me want to see how the story ends. (Unless it shows up on Linkara’s show at some point.)
- And My Entry: Admittedly the Power Man/Spider-Man/Storm team-up may be the weakest PSA comic in my collection, and that’s counting the Supergirl “wear your seatbelts” one, but for it’s time I kind of like Smokescreen’s costume.
- Turns out Ock’s fly actually WAS open.
- And My Entry: I don’t care what Linkara says, or this fight shows. I still think Kool-Aid-Man is a decent superhero.
- This had to be tough on Mr. Snell, even if he is risking the wrath of a certain Decepticon Commander Supreme. How often do you show your favorite character getting his skull caved in?
- Hal abuse continues. Maybe there was something positive about this tournament after all, but I would have preferred more Wolverine abuse personally.
- Who knew Darkseid had a sense of humor?
- And My Entry: Other people got to rough up the JLA in this tournament, why not me?
- All Booster really needed to do was wait until the New 52.
- I’d call for an all-Hal abuse tournament if I had enough entries. “Bad Boys” seems to be the next best thing.
- And My Entry: The postal service goes…HARDCORE!
- Remember when I said I’d be extra hard to please? This round would be a prime example. Really, nothing satisfied me here. No offense, guys. It’s the theme, not your entries.
- And My Entry: You saw a similar fight in the first six rounds, but this was the manga version so I went ahead with it.
Prize Fight which I was eligible for, but for various reasons I wasn’t able to compete. However, the prize wasn’t the usual Amazon gift card but a movie that I really didn’t care to see anyway. I just missed the fun of competing.
- Captain America is just such a nice guy.
- This may be Hal’s most embarrassing defeat ever. Any wonder I give Kyle the #1 GL spot?
And that was the end of Villains Victorious. Next time we return to themes I can root for, but next WEEK begins a brand new tournament of Friday Night Fights. Be there or regret it later.
