I didn’t pick up issue #2 during my financial issues so all I can tell is they have a ship that has a Quantum Generator for long-distance space travel, and apparently you can end up becoming part of the wall. This happened to one of the cannon fodder characters, and his brother is attacked by a spark-consuming monster. As the monster run roughshod around the Lost Light, some of the cast get to know each other and Rodimus has to make a sacrifice for the sake of the crew.

What they got right: I do like how they’re giving the characters backstories. Even Tailgate’s decision at the end of the story, while bothering me personally for the same reasons a lot of IDW’s takes on Transformers has bugged me, makes sense from a story perspective. The “sparkeater” made for a good story.

What they got wrong: I’m still not a fan of the characterization of a number of the main cast any more than I did when I reviewed issue #1. Also, not a fan of Rodimus’s design.

Recommendation: Honestly, after issue one I came in with low expectations. This perked up a bit but I still find it hard to recommend because this still isn’t the Transformers I’ve been wanting.

I couldn’t point you to a particular moment that I would dub a “best scene”. It could just be me.
