Superman Family Adventures #1
DC Comics (July, 2012)
WRITER/ARTIST: Art Baltazar CO-WRITER: Franco EDITOR: Kristy Quinn SUPERMAN CREATORS: Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster
The Superman family comes together when Lex releases giant robots on the city as part of a plan to absorb Superman’s powers. Things go wrong and the heroes get a new member.
What they got right: A good introduction to the main characters, from the Superteam themselves to Clark’s usual supporting cast. The rest kind of depends on how you feel about the Tiny Titans style, although there’s a stronger narrative here than in their previous series.
What they got wrong: I’m going to assume using the New 52 suit and no Supermarriage are edicts from on high or just trying to match the current DCU. I don’t have to like them but it is what it is. However, Lex’s supersuit is not really used and was there a need to add a super-powered talking mouse who isn’t Mighty Mouse? (Now that’s a crossover I’d like to see.)
Recommendation: Not quite the Superman comic I’m looking for but a good one for the kids (who probably shouldn’t be reading the regular ones) and I may check out more issues. At least worth a look if not a buy.

This is what happens every time they watch The Terminator.
