It’s the story of how Supergirl and Robin of Earth 2 (the future Power Girl and Huntress) met. As the war with Darkseid continues on, Helena begins her career as Robin with mother Catwoman’s approval but daddy Batman isn’t happy. But when Catwoman is taken out and Batman injured, it’s up to Robin and Supergirl (who is having her own trouble convincing Supes to let her fight crime) to avenge the fallen.

What they got right: Outside of being a passable story, not much, really. Maybe it’s because this series has BEEN half-flashback thus far. I’m not that interested in how these two met. I do like the Earth 2 costumes, though. The characters interact well enough and I like the mother/daughter moments with Selina and Helena.

What they got wrong: So is there a happy universe in the new DCU? Apparently not.

Recommendation: Take or leave, really. It’s a fair read but unless you’re into these characters already the story won’t mean too much.

If you think that’s bad, you should see their displays of affection on Earth 1. Then again, maybe you shouldn’t. That would be creepy.
