I assume we’ve all heard this line at some point: “I’m Batman, and I can breathe in space.” Surely even Doug Moench or Frank Miller couldn’t get him that prepared without a space suit and air supply. (Not to be confused with 80’s band Air Supply–hey look, they’re still touring!) Yet, in a spoof of a lazy toy design, Shortpacked! creator David Willis made that into a meme without trying. (Which is how all good memes are created, by the way.) And after Batman’s fairly recent team-up with Space Ghost, I’m surprised it took me so long to come up with this.
(And don’t forget to click on the comic for a bit more about the comic and breathing in space.)
- Reviewers Unknown: I’m hoping to get some more Clutter Reports material by next weekend. Things just keep happening, but this place isn’t cleaning itself. Over at RU, I’m hoping that re-posting my record of the first ever Friday Night Fights (apparently we’ve lost a few more sites since my first posting here at BW) may drag up a few new Fighters.
Best Scene(s) of This Week’s Reviews
Transformers Timeline #7

Did I forget to mention the visual effects? Because they’re almost the best part of the artwork.
Worlds’ Finest #5

No joke here, that’s just a real good panel.
Both panels were just too good to not choose them both this week. Now go listen to some Air Supply. They’re still pretty good.

LOL, isn’t “Batman can Breathe in Space” a trope name?
