Transformers Prime: Rage of the Dinobots #2
IDW Publishing (December, 2012)
WRITERS: Mike Johnson & Mairghread Scott ARTIST: Agustin Padilla COLORIST: Thomas Deer with Joanna LaFuente COVER ART: Ken Christiansen LETTERER: Shawn Lee ASSISTANT EDITOR: Jean-Carlo Tirado EDITOR: John Barber
The remaining Dinobots head to a Decepticon prison specially designed for a group of Shockwave’s loyalists. Only with the planet being evacuated, Ser-Ket and her fellow followers are holding Autobots and performing experiments. They rescue Ultra Magnus and some other Autobots but Swoop is another matter.
What they got right: The art is still the best of the IDW Transformers titles right now (although More Than Meets The Eye is giving it a fight right now). The story is also interesting and I really care about these characters.
What they got wrong: I really can’t complain. The Forged make an interesting threat and I want to see more.
Recommendation: The other IDW writers would do well to check this one out. Action, good characters, and a good read. If you only grab one Transformer comic off of the shelf, this mini-series would be a good choice.
