The girls take Dorrie out boating when she thinks Phil forgot their anniversary. Actually, he’s planning a big surprise…if the giant gophers don’t screw it up!
What they got right: The second stand-alone story giving the Atomics development. I know the Slug and Black Crystal are married…at least I learned it eventually…so it’s nice to see how the impact of becoming a superhero has affected their life. We also get hints about Bonnie and Carla’s love life in light of how their lives have gone.
What they got wrong: Nothing about the story, so I’ll pick on the cover not having anything to do with the story and the two focus characters not being on the cover. A constant pet peeve that this comic keeps making.
Recommendation: So you can’t write a story about married superheroes? Bull. Read this comic.
OK, husbands. You’re REALLY going to have to step up for the next anniversary.
