Kara and Helena escape Desaad, but as far as everyone else is concerned they were fighting Michael Holt. After a rather unnecessary flashback (I was hoping we were done with those), Desaad leads an army on Karen’s island, her assistant killed in the process (I suppose trying to remember her name would be useless on my part–I don’t even remember her name being said.), forcing a decision by Power Girl and Huntress.
What they got right: The Desaad storyline looks like it could be interesting. We learn why Karen is so drawn to the limelight, and it made sense.
What they got wrong: We’re really going official with the old costume? I’m the only person who liked the new one, a rare thing for me to say about a New 52 outfit? That one’s personal, but why fridge Karen’s assistant? I liked her character and it’s a shame to see her gone just to give Power Girl a tragedy.
Recommendation: Overall a bit lackluster. Only pick up if you’ve already been reading the series.
