As chaos continues to break out on the ship. the planet-bound crew is captured by the Decepticons who are working for Tyrest, the former judge. Pharma has something gross planned for Ratchet and Ambus is revealed to be…Ultra Magnus!
What they got right: OK, I liked the bit with Swerve’s gun enough to make it a Best Scene.
What they got wrong: Just how convoluted are we going to make the Transformers backstory? It feels like they’re adding things to it just to add things to it. We get it! The Autobots are full of jerks. Stop beating our heads in with it. You don’t want the Autobots to be the pure good guys of my youth. That bugs me enough but now you’re overdoing it. And I “can’t wait” to see how you screw up Ultra Magnus’ backstory. I like that Dreamwave made Magnus’ internal robot look like Optimus. You know, like the original toy.
Recommendation: Now we’re getting revelations just to have revelations…and little of it has anything to do with finding the Knights of Cybertron, which I thought this story was about. I really can’t recommend this comic to anyone.
I admit I was amused by this bit.
