Alopex is probably Shredder’s most loyal ninja. But the mutant Arctic Fox has her loyalty tested with a visit to her pre-mutant home and what Saki does next may turn his greatest warrior into his greatest enemy.
What they got right: I do like stories where the villain’s ego is responsible for creating his own nemesis.
What they got wrong: There’s no indication as to when these events occur unless I missed it. So how long has Alopex been a proverbial wolf in ninja’s clothing? At what point did Shredder’s attempt to ensure her loyalty actually lead to losing it?
Recommendation: The events of this story is sure to affect Alopex’s actions in the future, if not the current “City Fall” storyline. In addition she has a fascinating origin story, much like the other villains thus far. If you’ve been following the series, you should get this issue. At the very least it should be worth a look for non-followers but it may not be the one to truly start your look into IDW’s Turtles.
