For the last main round of the Mosquito tournament I’m going to the Disney Afternoon. As Kaboom was losing the Disney license (just after turning the Scrooge McDuck comic to the Ducktales comic) they decided to team both of Launchpad’s group of friends together into a huge crossover. Tonight’s fight comes from that crossover, so enough intro. Let’s get dangerous already!

The Battlefield: Darkwing Duck #17 (Kaboom; October, 2011) “Dangerous Currency” part 2

The Promoters: Warren Spector, Ian Brill, & James Silvani (story, with Brill as writer and Silvani as artist), Lisa Moore (colorist), and Deron Bennett (letterer)

Long story short: The Phantom Blot and Magica Dispell have teamed up and have been causing havoc in St. Canard and Duckberg. Darkwing, Scrooge, and Gyro are trying to find Gizmoduck, who has gone missing. Well, they found him.

“If this is about the raise, it’s yours!”

He’s not quite himself at the moment. Blame the ink/slime stuff Blot and Magica are using to make things heck for our heroes.

What do birds see when they get hit in the head?

Not surprisingly the guy duck in the possessed armored suit is winning. This forces Darkwing to do something he may live to regret.

“OK, I wouldn’t have thought ‘thrown a couch at him’ was an option…”

Luckily, Scrooge had his own idea. Which is more drastic is up to you.

Nothing that man can make is mightier than a nagging mother.

Only problem I had here, which I mentioned in the review, is that Fenton’s mom KNOWS he’s Gizmoduck, which she doesn’t appear to in this story.
