Mega Man #28
Archie Comics (October, 2013)
“The Return (prelude to Ra Moon)” WRITER: Ian Flynn PENCILER: Ryan Jampole INKER: Gary Martin COLORIST: Matt Herms SELECTED COVER ART: Ryan Jampole, Rick Bryan, & Ben Hunzeker LETTERER: John Workman ASSISTANT EDITOR: Vincent Lovallo EDITOR: Paul Kaminski
Reality is resorted to the Megaverse, leaving our heroes and villains clueless and undamaged but otherwise where they left off: Proto Man attacking Mega Man and friends while Wily fiddles with Ra Moon. Although if you caught the foreshadowing during “Worlds Collide” you know how wrong that’s going to go by the end of issue…but not in time to save Roll!
What they got right: Outside of repairing the damage before the Genesis Wave hit, everything is as it was before the “Worlds Collide” arc began. The action is good and the set-up for the next story arc does it’s job.
What they got wrong: Part of me wishes they remembered the events of the wave, or at least Mega Man remembering his new friends.
Recommendation: If for some odd reason you didn’t like the Sonic crossover you can return here without missing a beat. This is still a great comic that you should give a look to.
