Masters of the Universe - He-Man

It’s Labor Day…not that it matters for me at the moment, but most people are taking some time off. For anyone still here, I thought this might be fun.

Tony Swatton has made life-like prop-weapons for movies and TV but in the AWE me webseries Man At Arms he takes fans suggestions for famous fictional swords and brings them to life. He gets as close to the real thing as he can and these aren’t the props you get at a convention. These swords are real in every sense. For this Labor Day I thought I’d post a few of my favorite weapons he’s made into reality, but these aren’t the only ones. Warning to people on slower connections: this one is video heavy.

I’m mostly posting this first one for our pal, Brian Snell.

And this one’s for our Friday Night Fights MOC, Spacebooger.

The rest are for me. 🙂 One thing I really like about this show is how he goes into the process and how for each weapon he does things a little different. For example, Raphael’s sais.

The Batarangs are interesting because he’s worked on actual Batman movies.

He doesn’t just make bladed weapons…which is good for the bunch of people who requested Captain America’s shield.

Now here are my top favorites: He-Man’s Power Sword (although he took some liberties and even Giffen’s He-Man would stab a guy in the head like that) and Lion-O’s Sword of Omens.

Puts the crappy wood swords I made in shop class to shame, even if they didn’t suck. (I’m better with paper…same tree, different product.) But these aren’t all of them. Check out more episodes of Man At Arms from the YouTube playlist or check out other shows produced by AWE me. And post some of your favorites in the comments. I’m curious what interest fans and be sure to ask them in THEIR comments which fictional weapons you’d like Swatton to build.
