Mega Man #32
Archie Comics (January, 2014)
“The Curse Of Ra Moon” part 4 “Total Eclipse” WRITER: Ian Flynn PENCILER: Mike Cavallaro INKER: Gary Martin COLORIST: Matt Herms SELECTED COVER ART: Powree LETTERER: John Workman ASSISTANT EDITOR: Vincent Lovallo EDITOR: Paul Kaminski
It’s the last stand against Ra Moon! When the computer merges Ra Thor with Wily’s Yellow Devil Mega Man will have to make a desperate move for one last strike to save the world, and even Wily’s moved. But Ra Moon also has friends, and they’re on their way.
What they got right: What an action-packed finale! So much so that I couldn’t pick one moment for Best Scene. There were too many. Mega Man remembers what being a real hero is all about…which is more than I can say for…certain superheroes these days. It’s nice to also see a different side of Wily. He wants power but while he’s done a lot of evil things he isn’t a total monster. That makes him more interesting than…certain supervillains.
What they got wrong: I think at this point Flynn has abandoned adapting Mega Man games, which is too bad. Luckily, the stories he’s telling make up for it.
Recommendation: With the kid unfriendly status of today’s superhero comics, this is a great alternative. Pick this series up.
