Power Girl’s power problems end up transferred to Superman, forcing him and Huntress to stay behind…just as they’re attacked by an agent of New Gammora. Meanwhile Batman and Power Girl head into the city and Karen learns this reality’s version of her ex isn’t such a nice guy. [Continues in Batman/Superman #9]
What they got right: I love watching Power Girl and Huntress call out Batman 52 and Superman 52, especially Bats being kind of a jerk. Apparently the Earth-2 Bats and Supes are better people. And the play with alternate realities includes Kaizen, showing how different realities can lead to different paths even more.. It’s a good theme for this story.
What they got wrong: I’m going to assume that Batman learned Karen Starr was Power Girl in one of the issues I skipped, but if not that’s a goof. However, the art is not very good. It’s a bit better than in Batman/Superman, where part one of this story happened but this comic really needs a dedicated art team that doesn’t overdetail faces. Lacking a dedicated art team was one of my problems with this comic.
Recommendation: I’m curious enough to finish this four-parter but afterwards I don’t seem me resuming the collection of this series or starting the other one. It’s just not grabbing my attention enough beyond this story.
