Men in Black (film)

When adapting from one medium to another some changes are necessary. Some changes, however, are just because they believe a larger audience wants a happier ending or a different tone, and they might be right. That said, while most visitors to this site know that the Star Trek franchise went far from Gene Roddenberry’s vision, did you know that Men In Black did the same thing? How about The Shining or the musical My Fair Lady? That would be enough for some, but when you completely screw up the intentions of the author like these four did you lose the whole point. Steven King’s hatred of Kubrick’s The Shining is quite personal and for good reason, while the MIBs are not exactly the heroes in the comics that they are in the movies. A fascinating read.
