Every now and then I get surprised that I never used something for a Friday Night Fight. Tonight is one of those fights. Remember Jose Beller? Circuit Breaker? The girl who started a one-woman war on all Transformers but only ends up attacking Autobots because they’re easy targets? Well, she’s finally going after a Decepticon…who was minding his own business actually working for his Energon. Beller just keeps doing it wrong, folks.

“Battling Jack” round 8
The Battlefield: The Transformers #45 (Marvel Comics; October, 1988) “Monstercon From Mars!”
The Promoters: Bob Budiansky (writer), José Delbo (breakdowns), Daven Hunt (finishes), Nel Yomtov (colorist), and Bill Oakely (letterer)
During Skullgrin’s time working for a movie studio (in exchange for fuel), he’s made friends with a human actress, Carrissa Carr..aka Ethel Stankiewicz. When she reveals that to Skullgrin, he reveals that he’s actually a Decepticon pretender, who is happy earning his fuel without hurting anyone, which is rare for a Decepticon. However, Josie, in her usual paranoia, has been suspicious of him since his first press conference and is watching until her suspicions were confirmed. And naturally her first reaction is…something most Decepticons would praise in her, really.

Sometimes I wonder if Circuit Breaker really hates all Transformers or just ones who actually LIKE humans!
So Circuit Breaker goes after Skullgrin and Rollie, the director and crappy studio owner, decides to film the fight because fictional directors care more about the film than anything like human lives, sticking to the script, not getting your actors destroyed by a nearly-naked woman covered in high-tech tinfoil….
However, Beller was a genius right out of high school and she’s figured out how the Pretender shell works…and can work against her opponent.
After that Skullgrin returns to his Pretender shell, but the shot puts Ethel/Carissa in danger and Josie has to admit she tricked the actress so Skullgrin will save her. Then she does another @#tch move.
See, most people would rethink hurting someone who will help humans. Josie Beller, however, is one of those obsessed nutjobs, the kind Frank Castle would tell to chill out! So, what talks her out of killing him? An even bigger jackass telling her to kill him.
Josie Beller. Even when she attacks the bad guys it takes a scumbag director to make her not the worse one in the room. Uh, canyon.
