This nonsense lately that comic creators seem to be trying to take superheroes away from children really bugs me. You have occasional stuff like Red Circle that seems to remember kids love superheroes, but the ones that have become cultural icons because kids grew up with them is now denying the next generation of kids that right unless there’s a cartoon connected to them. The following video, courtesy of Connecticut’s WTNH (8), shows a group of window washers giving some kids a happy memory at the Hartford Children’s Hospital, for kids getting over cancer and other ailment.
And they did it with superheroes! Specifically Superman, Spider-Man, and Captain America, led by Batman!
I also saw a video of this happening in Texas so this isn’t new. I think it’s happening in other places, too. I hope to see more of it, and for parents to write to these companies asking for at least kid-friendly versions so all the no-fun people who only want boobs, gore, and angst can have their comics and kids can still see their favorite superheroes doing what superheroes should be doing best.
