The two Hulks battle in New York as Spider-Man gets a shock seeing the Thing and the Avengers still alive. All this is interrupted by Doom, since Reed has called everyone back. Testing subterranean rocks in the Negative Zone proves that their world is less than a year old, proving more of Franklin’s claim. Speaking of whom, while escaping from Ashema Franklin fell down a high cliff and is near death until something tells Ashema to save the boy. When she does brushing his soul has a profound effect on the Celestial who takes the boy back to his parents and lets the assembled heroes know that those aren’t fireballs they saw…but eyes!

What they got right: I wish the Heroes Reborn comics I had been reading were this interesting, and it’s just a series of events. It is interesting watching the heroes slowly learn the truth about themselves. And of all the characters you expect to get character development Ashema probably isn’t the one you’d pick. You get touching scenes like Ashema returning Franklin to Sue and Reed to funny moments like Spider-Man realizing he’s standing between two rampaging Hulks.

What they got wrong: While the Reborn Iron Man armor looks better here the art still has flaws at times, and again the Hulks seem to suffer most for it.

Recommendation: This makes Heroes Reborn almost worth it. Almost. Just get this instead.
