The Transformers #58

At no point is Optimus “out of control” in this comic.

I used the cover from GCD because I don’t know what happened to my copy. This is one I picked up in back issue.

The Transformers #58

Marvel (November, 1989)

“All The Familiar Faces”
WRITER: Simon Furman
PENCILER: José Delbo

COLORIST: Nel Yomtov
LETTERER: Jim Massara
EDITOR: Don Daley

Ratchet has succeeded in using Megatron’s Pretender shells to repair Starscream, now with a blank mind for Megatron to reprogram. There are a few things Megatron didn’t count on, though. Optimus sending the other Autobots back to the Ark, for example. Or Kup being able to deal with the bomber on board the ship. Or Ratchet using the other shells to restore Jazz, Grimlock, and Goldbug…no, actually he’s looking more like Bumblebee now.

What they got right: It’s good seeing Bumblebee back. Really, that’s all I’ve got.

What they got wrong: The art is still weak. Again, I’ll I’ve got.

Recommendation: For a story so important it says something when I have nothing to say. It’s not good, it’s not bad, it’s…just okay. There’s nothing else I can really add to that.
