In case you missed it, news dropped yesterday that Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures reached a deal to co-own the Spider-Man movie rights. That makes it possible for Spidey to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony can sneak in a few of the Avengers into cameos. Does that mean Spider-Man can now join the movie Avengers? Does this include the other Spider-side characters? Can we still get a Prowler movie?
They also link to a report that Andrew Garfield will not return in the role. I wonder who they’ll get? I haven’t see the Amazing movies so I don’t know if we’re missing out or getting lucky. This leaves the X-movies and sadly the butchered Fantastic Four movie out of Marvel control. Still, it’s one step closer for Marvel to get everybody back. Wait, who still have Blade and the Punisher movie rights? Meanwhile CBR also reports a change in the release schedule for some of the new additions to the MCU.
