Dodekain #2

Takuma tries to lead the monster away from Dr. G and Koyori but the whatever it is controlling it turns it towards his friends anyway. Koyori tries to distract it from G so he can recover well enough to use Dodekain and the monster appears to have stepped on her. Losing the only person that means anything to her makes him angry enough that Doctor G. grants him the Dodekain, which is powered by hatred for the Zogelians. Something he forgot to tell the boy, however, is that Dodekain is a bit larger than you’d think. For example, the robot’s fist is almost as big as Japan! “Its height is 15,000 miles, its weight is 130 septillion 650 quintillion tons and its power is infinite!” And remember, this is the guy who can’t even hug his girlfriend without crushing the poor girl. Either way I think the Earth is in trouble.
What they got right: To give you an idea about this comic’s humor, when Takuma launches into space he’s said to be launching from point Napajnierehwemos. Read that backwards and you’ll get the gag. The design of Dodekain (see the previous issue’s review, it’s on the cover) is cool and the idea that a robot larger than the whole planet is supposed to stop an alien invasion would only work in a comedy.
What they got wrong: I’m assuming the length issue is the same here as in #1 but I didn’t read this one with breakfast.
Recommendation: It’s a story about a planet-sized giant robot. What do you think?
