Takuma thinks he can best Dan at volleyball, but at every turn Dan again proves his superior. But when Dan gets overzealous, Koyori steps in, and spills the beans that Dan is out for revenge against Takuma for his father, killed in the fight…which Dan reveals was one of the invaders. Dan is a Zogelian and this embarrassment was to convince Takuma that he’s nothing without Dodekain before launching another attack, only this time with something more on Dodekain’s level…or at least as much as Dan was to Takuma. The Zogelians have built their own giant robot, the black giant Ohkizon! 61250 miles tall, weighing 115,072,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons, and who knows how much power!
What they got right: This is more like it. No fourth wall jokes, no girls of impossible ugliness, just revenge on the Dodekain pilot by the aliens.
What they got wrong: Since this is the last storyline, and I should mention it’s the only nitpick I have or I wouldn’t bother mentioning it, why bother telling us that Takum and Koyori are now living with Dr. G? It wasn’t necessary to fulfill the scene’s role of setting up the suspense of Ohkizon’s debut.
Other notes: According to the captions, “dodekain” means “a giant” while “ohkizon” means “a big one”. I’m not sure if that’s in Japanese or Pallmerian and Zogelian respectively.
Recommendation: Okay, now we’re back to how things should be. I guess last issue now becomes important if I’m recommending this issue.
