Superman #1 Millenium

As DC and Warner Brothers continue to ruin the Man Of Steel I am on the search for others who see Superman the way I do and create stories with THAT Superman. Superman Classic is real short (so I’m including the follow-up, Bizzaro Classic) but still shows more love for the Superman that became a cultural icon than the people who currently own the character.

Using the robots that would have been at home in of the old Fleischer shorts is a very nice bonus. The music comes from the two Superman serials, Superman and Atom Man Versus Superman.

The use of the serial theme backwards for Bizarro’s theme was a nice touch, as was having John Newton speak the lines backwards to make Bizarro sound as strange as possible. Hey, it worked for David Lynch.

I like that the behind the scenes is part of the video (probably because the cartoon is so short, although I’ve seen longer fanfilms, even animated ones, but non-professionals). As a bonus one of the Superboys (and compared to Supermen there have been very few) came back to voice Superman and brought his wife to play Lois. I just wish the adventures had an actual conclusion. I don’t mind a cliffhanger but there is no resolution. You can see more of Pratt’s work on his YouTube channel. As of this writing he just did one with Flash Gordon and there are 3-D versions of the ones above.
