While the final numbers weren’t out in time for this link, word is the Fantastic Four movie was the flop everyone thought it would be. ScreenCrush‘s Britt Hays makes the case that you can’t create a good Fantastic Four movie. Apparently it wasn’t set for press review and the low numbers put into question making a mini-MCU with their other tightly-gripped Marvel property, the X-Men. However he does mention that The Incredibles was close, but if Fox wants to hold onto the license maybe an animated version is the way to go. It worked for television. Or at least find someone who can stay true to the comic in the important areas. Here’s a start: when Roger Corman’s Doctor Doom does a better job making him a threat, reconsider your approach!
