This the first of our comics to be cut off due to Dreamwave’s closing, thanks to Pat Lee’s horrible management. As far as know, he still hasn’t paid anybody and probably never will. Let me start with the reason I put this after Transformers Armada #15. Perceptor is trying to find Optimus Prime (since Megatron’s survival means Optimus had to have survived as well) by scanning multiple planets through subspace while portals are opening around Cybertron, one of them sending Flash (one of the UK Autobots so you may not have heard of him) to another place. Sound familiar? He’s ripping off his own plotline, from Armada #15, which was published over a year before this. I might not have picked up on it if fate hadn’t put these two books together in my reading. That’s just sad, Simon.
The rest of it is either original or from a source I don’t recognize. The machine scanning the drones mysteriously blows up, leaving Shockwave with only partial answers. The Autobots are trying to capture their own drone and after they get beat up a lot they finally get Perceptor’s locking device on it. Still others are searching for whatever Slamdance saw underneath the Council chambers when Starscream murdered them.
The next issue teased that on that alien world Flash would learn who Megatron’s benefactors are. These issues were not released but somehow TFW2005 has a summary of those issues, which we’ll look at later tonight if the medicine side effects allow me to work on it. From what was released it might be interesting. As for this miniseries, it’s a curiosity at best but I’m not sure it was worth The Dark Ages.
