Cassandra Cain is a Batgirl nobody outside of the comics knows about, only now she calls herself Orphan. (Long story.) But back when Cass was still barely literate or able to talk, one writer came up with a storyline in which the young Cain became a Christian. The odd part is that it was an atheist, Gail Simone, who wanted to save her. How does that work? Surprising well as Simone appears to have been actually willing to write her like a Christian rather than the evil stereotype you usually get from a liberal atheist.
