Peanuts #0

This is Thanksgiving in the United States, where we celebrate the Pilgrims dangerous voyage to the new world, barely survive their first year, and thanks to the help of the natives (unaware of what their descendants would do) form a new life for ourselves and the beginning of a new nation. That and the aforementioned doctor visit and getting ready for festivities is why this is the only post tonight. Sorry, it wasn’t planned.

For this year I thought I would show off the history of Thanksgiving as told by the Peanuts gang. I’ve done this before but this time I have a working video embed to use. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans and I hope the rest of you have a good day as well.

I actually watched this show on Wednesday night. It was a decent one….much better than the Thanksgiving episode where Peppermint Patty invites herself to “Chuck”s” for Thanksgiving dinner and Snoopy serves popcorn and bread. Watching this made wish that Charles Schultz would have also created Peanuts shows with the characters in other history topics such as the American Revolution (Valley Forge would have been good or the Battle of Trenton has that happened Christmas time 1776…would have made for a good historical Christmas episode of Peanuts). Hey, it would be pretty cool if you critique those old School House Rocks cartoons! There’s so many of them to analyze.

Just so you know, it’s either ABC or CBS that plays this Peanuts historical Thanksgiving show every year on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. I watched it this year and last year on the Wednesday nights. As a kid, I saw many Peanuts shows, but for some reason I never remember having seen the historical Thanksgiving one until 2015!
