While I’ve questioned some of the fan film rules Paramount made recently, I understand why did they did it in light of Axanar, a fan film about a starship captain who was a decorated hero but, when we see him in the show, has gone rather mad. Comics Alliance has an update on that lawsuit. Personally I think the film went too far compared to other fan productions I’ve reviewed and showcased on this very site and now it’s ruined things for other fan films just so it could be cinematic and brag about the big name stars it has on board. Sometimes fans dream a little too big when working with properties not their own.
