Black Lightning, the little-known DC superhero is getting his own TV series. Unfortunately it’s on Fox, home of the not-Batman series Gotham, and not on the CW, where all of the other DC superhero shows currently exist. Personally I would have set it in Supergirl’s universe, since she doesn’t get to have other superheroes to play with except for the occasional visit from Superman or when Martian Manhunter leaves the office. Plus, it keeps the first black superhero solo series since Static Shock away from the rest of the DC series (Vixen is set in the regular CW DCU but it’s animated and only available on their streaming site) and that’s really disappointing. Plus it’s the home of Gotham, a series that loves to have supervillains but no superheroes. Or anybody likable for that matter.
