Back when professional wrestling wasn’t afraid to use comic book style storylines (or comic book movies for that matter) and World Championship Wrestling was still in existence before Eric Bischoff got a little crazy and challenged the WWE, there was a stable of dark monster gimmicks known as the Dungeon Of Doom. Led by Kevin “Taskmaster” Sullivan and his mysterious Master they made it their goal to end Hulkamania, a symbol of good in their eyes, and corrupt Hulk Hogan. (Maybe they should have formed the nWo. That seemed to do the trick.)

However, not all of the Dungeon’s ideas were good ones. Above you see the Yeti, who yes does look more like a mummy than a furry Bigfoot. Dinosaur Dracula charts the short-lived gimmick from snowman/mummy to Super Giant Ninja. It’s a role that I’m betting Ron Reis wishes he had passed on.

An Egyptian mummy being called a Yeti, a furry creature that supposedly lives in the mountains of Nepal, is a peculiar gimmick indeed. But it looks to have caught peoples’ attention, and that’s really all that matters when it comes to promoting wrestling.
