We last saw the Thunderbolts being teleported away unwillingly. They’ve ended up in the dimension of Kosmos, ruled by bug people and the source of the “Pym Particles” that allows Hank Pym to change sizes. Two different groups in the past used Goliath as part of some plan, and the experience has a bad effect on him. Now Atlas must deal with that again. While the Thunderbolts manage to escape they are followed by the prince, who tells them that they received a message that Kang The Conquerer was using Kosmos to create his Growing Men. the rulers drew in the heroes who fought a Growing Man recently, which happens to be the Thunderbolts, unaware that Atlas was the “invader” until they could do more than see them. Jolt thinks they could go back and convince them of what really happened. However, the ruler has to also deal with the civil war that erupted from the message and decides to interrogate them about Kang and then publicly execute them. While the others are unsure what to do Moonstone makes contact with the Viser, who may be the ally they need to get home.
What they got right: There are some good character moments as MACH-1 has a chance to talk to Songbird about her recent more aggressive behavior. Jolt still refuses to give up, Atlas is still down on himself, and Moonstone is still scheming. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next, and I still remember part of what happens from the last time I read it years ago.
What they got wrong: I found a few spelling errors. That’s pretty much it.
Recommendation: This is still a good story as it works its way into a new direction for the series. It’s worth checking out.
