Quick, name anybody besides Spider-Man who maintains a secret identity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can’t, can you? Marvel in both their comics and their movies seem to be trying to do away with as many secret identities as they can lately. Even some new superhero indie and web comics don’t have secret identities for their heroes. DC themselves spilled the beans about Prince Adam being He-Man. However, the reason DC still maintains them, even under current (mis)management and Marvel is dropping them more and more has to do with their philosophies on how to approach superheroes and how that affects their approach to alter egos. Galvanic’s Bulletoon Weekend video series has a great video going over those differences, and proving why I love DC more…at least until the reign of DiDio.
