When Marvel Studios first started putting out their movies through Paramount (before Disney bought Marvel Entertainment) Kevin Feige really wanted to have access to all the Marvel heroes, even the ones already licenced by Fox and Sony. In a recently revealed deleted scene apparently Nick Fury was supposed to reference both when he introduces himself to Tony Stark in the post-credits scene of Iron Man. I don’t think that’s going to help them sneak mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this stage.
