COVER COLORIST: Paul Mounts

After defeating the Pursuer the Farrago may not be ready for take off as Veidt and L-Ron discuss a delay to prepare it. That doesn’t sit well with the impatient Burak, who is worried about his people being slaughtered. Maybe he should be worried about the Praxians since they’re the ones suffering the Regis’ evolutionary experiments. Meanwhile, Rick and Lisa get things ready for their new mission while Jack and Karen stop bickering long enough for Rick to promote them to lieutenants.
What they got right: Burak’s impatience is understandable although we’re not meant to sympathize with his lack of concern for the others or choosing the order to best improve their chances of defeating the Invid once and for all. He could easily be the jerk of the team and maybe he’ll still turn out to be but it’s one that makes a form of sense. Jack and Karen are an interesting pair to watch.
What they got wrong: Jack and Karen are trying to make sense of the Sentinel’s various weapons and while that’s fun to watch maybe having someone who knows the difference between a Karbarran gun and a rifle (which makes sense given the size of the Karbarrans so I’m not putting either of them down) might have been helpful. I also wonder how the Praxians reproduce with only one gender. If they reproduced asexually then why would they care about being female or male. I would think that would also make sense for Veidt, being a mechanical lifeform (not that it stops the Transformers in most continuities) but he has a mate. It would make more sense if Praxia was an amazon matriarchy.
Recommendation: Another fine issue, worth looking into, but you’ll have to wait a bit longer if you just want to get to the mecha battles.

The colors on that cover are quite vivid. I wish the insides of the Robotech: Sentinels comic books were equally filled with vivid colors just like the covers.
