That’s the latest word anyway. After leaving the project due to creative differences (apparently Sony hired a fan of the property to make the movie then failed to let him make an actual Popeye movie) it looks like he’s returned. Hopefully this means that if we get a new animated Popeye film it will actually feel like Popeye and not another namesake re-imagining.
