Today is a quick read, just some fun trivia for the Godzilla fans out there, about Godzilla Vs. Gigan reaching Hawaii in Japanese theaters (Toho apparently runs a theater in Hawaii) before getting wide release around the country. Remember, the original Godzilla was turned into the original Godzilla, King Of The Monsters (thanks for the confusion, Legendary Pictures!) after someone saw it in a Japanese movie theater in the states.

California and Hawaii have had large populations of Japanese descent since the late 19th century and into the present day. Thus, it does make sense that there were Godzilla movies playing at movie theaters in areas with significant Japanese American populations before being shown in other areas of the U.S.
