He’s not wrong. I still love the Watchmen story because it started out dark, but that’s it. I can’t stand how much they’ve ruined modern day comics. Modern stories are mostly depressing and stupid, but that’s just my opinion. Thanks for sharing the video!

The thing is even Alan Moore isn’t happy with how modern comics were affected. The big problem is all they saw was the dark and gritty surface and figured deconstruction equaled fans without understanding why it worked. Also I get the impression they’re trying to get rid of classic heroes in favor of their own, so the old heroes are secretly terrible “but our new incarnations are wonderful and awesome and never do anything wrong”.

They are absolutely trying to destroy the classic heroes. That’s why I’m done buying modern comics. I was hanging on with The Flash, but I think I’ve had enough multiverse stories. I’m done with it. I have a bunch of Graphic Novels for all the early comics, Marvel/DC, and that’s all I’m reading for now. The early stories are corny, but at least they had heart.
