Amy Rose gets her greatest wish…Sonic is taking her on a date for Valentine’s Day after he lost a bet to Knuckles. You’d think going to the Chaotix for advice on where to go would be a bad idea or that Eggman trying to ruin their date would be a bad thing, but somehow both events actually lead to a good date.
What they got right: This was just such a fun story. It’s nice that some version of Amy got to have her date with Sonic without her usual creepy stalker bits, watching Eggman’s attempts at sabotage fail is funny, and as a side story the new writer found a way to tell a Sonic X story that works with the continuity limits of following the show.
What they got wrong: Admittedly I’m a bit bias as I haven’t enjoyed the series up to now, but I really don’t have anything to complain about this issue.
What I think overall: My first thought after reading it was “this was actually good”. It’s the first Sonic X comic I really enjoyed. Ian Flynn, at least in this issue, seemed to understand this incarnation better than Joe Edkin and hopefully that continues into later issues. While it feels more like a standalone side story it’s actually more fun that way. This is the first issue not going to the sell bags.
Off Topic but I thought you would enjoy this clip if you hadn’t already seen it:

That actually could have been somewhat related to two of tomorrow’s articles. Still, thanks for sharing. That was interesting. I thought she did a good job as Lana but I guess that explains why Lois went on vacation for the third movie.

I always loved her as Lana and was happy when she got cast as Martha for Smallville, buy I had never known she was a Superman fangirl herself.
