Note that certain performances and interpretations of the works are not public domain. For example Sherlock Holmes movies are still owned by the studio or licence holder. Oil is fine but There Will Be Blood isn’t. Falco’s cover of “Putting On The Ritz” is not public domain, just the original song, and so on.
