BW Media Spotlight 
In the defense of “Doctor Strange,” the original comics depiction of The Ancient One was likely always on the chopping block, as was any notion of Wong being Strange’s manservant. For all the flack Tilda Swinton gets in the role, I find her performance one of the most engaging in the wider MCU, and her exposition on the consequences of time travel in “Endgame” was remarkable for the naturalness of her delivery.
Interesting to note that “Ne Zha 2,” one of the most successful Chinese films of the 2020s, an animated family film adapting foundational mythology, made a metric ton o’ cash at the US box office. Meanwhile, 2022’s most profitable toon film, “Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: Dunk for Future,” part of a long-running franchise and (according to some reviews) delivering a better basketball experience than “Space Jam,” held the world record box office in the animated category until “Zootopia 2.” Side note: I’m a “Pleasant Goat” shill at heart. Its “Mighty Little Defenders” season was one of my favorite YT streaming discoveries of the pandemic. And looking their English channel up just now, the “Dunk for Victories” season, which led up to the “Future” film, is being uploaded, cool!
