I’m pretty sure James Bond still gets gadgets. They just aren’t disguised as money clips or something anymore.
DC decided that, since they had Dick Grayson exposed as Nightwing, they would compound their bad decisions (typical of the New 52) but having Dick drop the Nightwing identity altogether and become a spy for…..I don’t think that’s been said yet.
This is the first normal strip using the set and I think the couch does ad a bit to the visual. They could always stand against the wall if they want so that’s still an option.
