You get the feeling Leon gets worried coming to work around the holidays ever since Fizzbin came on board?

And although the season will go on a while longer, this is the last of the Festival Of Lights comics. And yes, I looked the history up. Apparently the ancient Greeks, who at times can be as big a group of jerks as their gods, used to get along with Israel and exchanged goods and ideas. But eventually they decided to make the Jews worship their gods. Not surprisingly the Jews weren’t happy about that and a war happened. The jews won and sent the Greecian army packing.

The temple Menorah only had enough lamp oil for one night thanks to the Greeks either destroying or desecrating it all. and it would take eight to properly bless the oil, and from what I’ve read the Menorah was important even before Hannukah so that’s was a big deal. Through a miracle the oil burned eight nights, until the new oil was properly prepared. And that’s the short version of the Hannukah story. Not exactly in line with Christmas (there are other Jewish feasts that rank higher than this one) but it’s around Christmas and it allowed the Jews to have something of their own during possibly the biggest holiday in the world. Although Easter holds more spiritual significance but Christmas is still awesome.
