Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against it. It’s just a little food for thought given how close we are to Independence Day.
This is actually a cosplay I saw on Facebook. Thanks to Hamilton, the musical play that seems to have captured the world by storm (and probably made Alexander Hamilton a household name outside of history buffs for the first time in a long time) people are cosplaying not just outfits of the period but actual characters…who happen to be based on real life people. And King George isn’t exactly what you’d call the good guy, even if you’re modern British. It’s kind of odd to see an actual villain of history (for us Americans anyway, as we fought two wars to stay out of his grip) being used as a fun cosplay. And I’m not even a history buff.
