Yes, even a serious story can be fun.
DC is supposed to be bright and larger than life. Oddly, this more describes the Marvel movies than the DC movies. Even some of the lighter shows forget this as their heroes tend to have darker colors. (Supergirl was a CBS show first so I can’t just blame The CW.) The Shazam movie still seems closer to what the character should be, and Aquaman at least has some yellow in his armor according to the trailers that came out of SDCC. Titans on the other hand is dark and violent with people swearing. That’s not what I come to DC for or why I’m more interested in the DC Universe.
I used the word balloon in panel four to hide the fact that I forgot to draw Leon holding Max’s smartphone to watch the Shazam and Aquaman trailers. Could you tell?
