BW’s Morning Article Link: New DC Comics In TV Ad Campaign

In hindsight, taking this group photo on Burrito Tuesday was a bad idea.

DC is once again going to TV and pre-movie advertising to promote a new batch of comics under their “New Age Of Heroes” promotion. Considering they’re still trying to prove that Rebirth isn’t going to be undone and one of their “heroes” is an assassin for hire I have yet to be convinced this isn’t another “Heroic Age”, and we know how long that lasted at Marvel.

Chapter By Chapter> Fantastic Voyage novelization ch. 13

Chapter by Chapter features me reading one chapter of the selected book at the time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.

We’re six chapters away from completing this book. Thus far I haven’t hated it. There are things Asimov did better than the movie but also things the movie did better. Still, Asimov is a good writer and some of those have been preference more than problem storytelling.

Our team continues their mission through the human body, and so far everything that can go wrong has done its best to try. Can the team make it to the blood clot and save Benes in time? Obviously not in this chapter but let’s see what the next challenge is.

Chapter 13: Pleura

Whatever the heck that is.

BW’s Morning Article Link: The Dark Knight Returns…To Theaters

I wasn’t into Batman: The Dark Knight. It’s just not my kind of Batman movie, but I do admit it was good. It was also very popular and since I know the benefit of getting to see a favorite movie on the big screen,  you might want to know, if you’re in the right states, you can see this movie in theaters.

Jake & Leon #349: Return Of The Super-trunks

Not to mention believing “Man Of Steel, Woman Of Kleenex” is canon.

I don’t know how long they’re going to keep them, but given how many costume redesigns they’ve had since the New 52 you really can’t mess with a classic look. I have a feeling it’s not permanent. Rebirth has improved but the “cool kids” are willing to accept the alleged underwear. Just make it a one-piece and blame the lack of fabric or how plain the blue looks. If the red look like underwear over the outfit the blue just looks like pajamas.

Well, I finally finished my comic-organizing project. I even took on a few extra to finish the week. Now some time to breath and take on some digital clutter organizing while I review Transformers for a few weeks, and then I can decide what to do next.

So you may have noticed Wednesday I reviewed the first of the Marvel run on Disney’s Gargoyles. While I reviewed the Slave Labor Graphics one as it came out I have done the Marvel set, so we’ll be doing that over the next few weeks. And also this week it’s a comic that’s become infamous here at the Spotlight, to the point that a discussion on it has gotten me a link from TV Tropes. If you’re new here and want to prepare for what’s coming, this is the article you want to read first. For those of you who know it or are waiting for the straight review, prepare for Transformers Spotlight: Arcee. And my immediate warning to any transgendered person out there. You might not like this one. I’ll take the taste out with a Finally Watched like I planned last week, because I want to finally watch Pacific Rim. Robots versus giant monsters. I really better like this. Please don’t let this be another Dino Squad.

This was supposed to go up in Saturday Night Showcase’s place but of course I had technical issues. Anyway, I’ve learned a bit more about what is and isn’t going to be lost with my YouTube Partnership status and some other reasons as to why this change is being implemented. It still isn’t fair and I don’t know who this is going to hurt, but it’s still worth trying to get right.
