Chapter By Chapter> BattleTech: I Am Jade Falcon chapter 10

Chapter By Chapter features me reading one chapter of the selected book at the time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.

We’re about a third into the book and so far it’s pretty good. I do wonder how much longer the character stuff goes on before the plot moves forward, as we’ve already had a potential shift in plot to a spy story involving people who don’t use spies. Ooooh, does that mean Joanna will get to have a watch that turns into a Battlemech? What? I had one as a kid. Mine was called Robotch but it was the same model robot watch that was used by almost everyone back in the 1980s. They even had them in breakfast cereal. I’ve gone off-track, haven’t I? Umm…obligatory link to the previous chapter.

A quick look shows that Diana is the focus of this story and I hope she gets to leave with Joanna on whichever assignment she’s getting because I really like her. I hope she got a story of her own at some point in this book series. Quick check…she does! Unless her story is all in this novel but I want more Diana stories. Yeah, it means more Ravill but it’s worth it. It better be. He’s in this chapter, too.

BW’s Daily Video: Mayim Bialik Explains Celebrating Hanukkah

Yep, she’s one of those celebrities with her own YouTube channel.

Jake & Leon #479: Beth’s Hope For 2021

Given the year she’s had I needed to make her last comic of the year a good one.

I’m really annoyed right now. It’s mere days to Christmas and I haven’t really even started the next issue of Captain Yuletide. Getting up late, having afternoon naps, various other issues…I mean, I really haven’t been as productive as I’ve wanted this year. I need to work on my sleep schedule, but it means I have no original Christmas content this year, no video and no comic, and I’m not sure what else to do for an article this year. 2020 has kept us all down in one way or another and one of my goals in 2021 is to fight back against the darkness, the rage, the hate, and the general horribleness that has come to define 2020.

As for this week, I guess I’ll just continue on as normal except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. (I’ll post the Robotech Masters review on Saturday so I’m not reviewing a sci-fi war story on Christmas Eve, plus the next chapter of BattleTech: I Am Jade Falcon will still come out on Monday.) I’m going to post six videos each of those holiday…days–music, specials, and Christmas episodes of my favorite YouTube shows–in the hopes of at least having some Christmas content, something I did in the early days of this site. Then I’m going to get the Captain Yuletide story guide finished at last, work out the story for next year’s comic, and when Christmas 2021 comes I’ll have a comic and hopefully even the video I’ve wanted to do the past two years.

Then after next week’s Jake & Leon arc finale I’m taking the following week off to collect myself and maybe ditch some distractions. With all that done I hope to start 2021 on a better foot with a new Saturday Night Showcase on January 2nd. I may or may not to a v-log on the subject. We’ll see. There’s a video I need to finish before completing the Robotech videos and trying out some new projects. How successful will I be? I guess we’ll all find out. Have a Merry Christmas if I don’t see you before then.

Saturday Night Christmas Showcase: The Christmas Tree Train

The first in a series of various holiday specials starring Buttons and Rusty (aka the Chucklewood Critters), The Christmas Tree Train is the creation of former Hanna-Barbera animators Bill Hutten and Tony Love. The series of specials and two season series follows the bear cub and fox pup respectively as they have adventures with their parents and friends in Chucklewood Park, helped by Forest Ranger Jonesy.

In their first adventure the kids end up inside a train that brings Christmas trees to the city. While their parents and Jonesy try to find them the kids need to make some friends fast if they’re ever going to get back home. Enjoy.
